The gala brought together outstanding artistic works from various ethnic groups across Guangxi and featured 16 distinctive programs. The opening folk instrumental ensemble, Beautiful Zhuang Brocade and Dahengga, unfolded a splendid cultural panorama of the Zhuang homeland. Intangible cultural heritage performances, including the Jing ethnic group’s Duxianqin piece The Wind Blows over the Bridge and the Zhuang ethnic group’s Tianqin performance of the Charming melodies Passed Down Through Generations, fully showcased the profound heritage of Guangxi’s ethnic cultures. The street dance Welcome and the Jingxi rock performance Duohai·Drunken Moon revitalized tradition through contemporary forms, sparking youthful energy. Classic folk songs such as Songs Soar Across the World on Sanyuesan and New Folk Songs Are as Beautiful as the Spring River Water were performed one after another. Returning from the Market, Ah-Li-Li, with its bright and melodious singing, vividly recreated the joyful scene of people returning from the marketplace in the Zhuang homeland, bringing the atmosphere to a climax.

Faculty members and students of Guangxi University were deeply involved in both the creation and performance of the gala. In Yao Visions amid the Fields and Embroidering Mountains and Seas, dancers from the School of Arts vividly interpreted ethnic culture through graceful movements, showcasing the distinctive charm of Guangxi and the vitality of youth.

With culture as a bridge and songs as a medium, the gala enabled teachers and students of all ethnic groups to deepen their emotional bonds through sharing the stage, appreciating the performances together, and singing in unison. Guangxi University will continue to use ethnic culture as an important means of education, integrate Guangxi’s outstanding traditional culture into the entire educational process on campus, foster a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, and inspire young students to innovate through inheritance and forge ahead in unity, striving to become communicators and practitioners of ethnic culture in the new era.
